4.5Really, there was so much done right about this book. The flow and balance were right. Almost all the characters were right (Perrin seemed nigh useless in comparison), and the victories were almost all clever, character-driven triumphs in the nick of time, and the ending was phenomenal.I don't want to give anything away, but Egwene! Olver! Mat! Birgitta!Rand did practically nothing compared to those. I still think Aviendha is practically superfluous as a pov character. Elayne and Lan were great.Cadsuane. Ha.The Forsaken were all taken down neatly and fittingly. It did seem that the channelers kept coming to points where they simply couldn't channel any more, but then the battle required them to, and they found they could manage a few heroic drops more. I know Tarmon Gaidon lasted several weeks, but still. And did we know about Charyns before this book? They seemed to pop out of nowhere.Brandon Sanderson did very well. Some witty dialogue (Mat and the gate-make
...r Ashaman) seemed totally Sanderson. I don't remember laughing aloud the first 11 books, and I did several times in the last 3.Well worth the read and wait. Don't know if I'll slog back through all 14. Maybe read some favorite scenes now and then.

I have read through the entire 'Wheel of Time' series and thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it. Sure it may have slowed down a bit after the 6th book, but even then I stuck with the characters as if they were my old friends. Robert Jordan has created an amazing world and forged such a complicated and rich story line that it kept me reading all the way to the end. 'A Memory of Light' was everything and more I hoped it would be. Brandon Sanderson skillfully picked up where Jordan left off and tied together all the loose ends beautifully in the last three books of the series. Overall, I am sad that the series is finished. I loved it. It was a wonderful adventure filled with humor, epic battles, interesting characters (and character development), concepts, and love. I would recommend the entire series to anyone. Well done Robert Jordan! Well done Brandon Sanderson!

Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time books transport you to a different world. A place of great beauty and horrific destruction. A place where the purest love and trust balance against evil and barbarism. You will believe in magical power within us all and find friends and family you will to return to again and again.
