She jumped to her feet and rushed back, away from him. He didn’t know why, but her actions excited him. “Knox?”
He tugged at the bonds and wondered why he was chained up. The last thing he remembered was standing outside the bedroom after she left. He frowned. A piece of his memory was missing.
“You smell so fucking good, Scarlett. Let me taste you,” he growled.
He growled? He’d never growled in his life. That had to be the animal in him. The wolf told him that yes, it was him giving life to new characteristics in Knox. The first was his need to mate Scarlett. The second was his desire to get her naked and under him.
