I love Charles Dickens, Jane Austen, etc. While this book doesn't feel quite as 19th century, I thought it was a cute story. I appreciated that the main characters had good morals. I get fr
...ustrated with historical fiction that gives the characters 21st century morals. It makes the book feel like a soap opera in Regency clothes. Not what I'm looking for when I pick up a book set in the 1800s.The main character was a little dramatic (and kind of obsessed with the guy's a modern teenage girl would be), but I forgave her. The book had elements of some of my favorite classics. Although the dialogue often felt modern, at least it was close to being accurate. Overall I enjoyed this lighter read in my favorite era.MoreLess

Great read, couldn't put it down. Just what I was looking for, I hope to see more books like this, around the same era. I liked the young Mr Brandon but loved Henry and Kate, Thank you!
