This book is a must read for everyone who wants to explore the morality of economic and social systems. It lays plain the immorality of not only socialism, but capitalism as practiced today. The modern era of industrialism with its supposed abolition of slavery actually has resulted in the vast majority of men and women worse off than that of slaves - slaves without the benevolence of masters. The ideas of this book have been hidden under the rubble of the conquest of the confederacy. While Fitzhugh's ideas need further exploration, such has never been done since his ideas are discarded by the feminized society in which we live.
