The 6th book in the Saxon Stories brings another great story of Uthred and his companions. There are a lot of changes in Britain and the safety of Wessex is fragile as another danish invasion
... is coming. Once again it is up to Uthred to protect Wessex and England. A very good book full of mix of warfare and politics. Even though we see the story from Utherd's perspective and his hate towards the diplomacy and negotiations is clear, we still get to see the political background of the story. Of course, at the end Uthred takes the lead and does what he does the best and that's war.Anyone who likes history, Bernard Cornwell and the Sharpe series should definitely read Death of Kings and continue till the end of the Saxon Stories.MoreLess

I have read the entire series. Also watching the BBC TV miniseries 'The last Kingdom' and can't wait for next years episodes. I have read almost all of Cornwalls books. He has an amazing way of describing battles. You feel like you are right there in the mayhem and blood.
