His Family
A Pulitzer prise novel by Ernest Cook Poole, American novelist of the 20th century. “His Family”, published in 1917, recreates a history of a bourgeois family of Roger Gale, well-off widower business man, his three daughters and their children. Through the life of his daughters Gale tries to understand modern life, the social ills of his day. The action takes place in New York of the beginning of the 20th century. “His Family” offers a unique view into the life of an upper middle class family in the New York City during one of its most dynamic periods.
