The last book of a Katy Series by Susan Coolidge (a pseudonym of an American children's author of the nineteenth century Sarah Chauncey Woolsey). Written in 1890, it tells a story of high-spirited and

rebellious Katy Carr, her inner growth and a gift to create atmosphere of kindness, delicacy an understanding. The first books of the author saw the light of the day in 1871-1872, “What Katy Did” being a successful beginning of the series. Answering numerous requests, Coolidge wrote “What Katy Did at School” next year, and later returned to the life of her heroine, still beloved by the readers, for three times.
