Carrying out the wish of the Christian mistress, who died right away after the birth of the daughter, the slave woman brings the child up in Christianity. Their life often run danger, but the God and their faith protected them.
The lesser known novel, published in 1903, by Sir Henry Rider Haggard, an English writer of adventure novels, the creator of the dashing adventurer Allan Quatermain, one of the great literary heroes of Britain's Victorian era.
