Ok, we all know that we live in CT and that Tennessee has been the enemy in the past. With that said, I am very sad that Pat Summitt is ill. She really helped to create the culture of women's basketball in the United States. She came from a hard scrabble life on the farm with a very reserved father, and made it to the big time that never existed for her when she was younger. She loved, lost, had a son, won games, earned respect from peers, and tangled with Geno. They are different, but alike in their love of the game and in how they manage to win. Interesting read.

As someone who really wants to coach when I graduate college, Pat Summit's book really inspired me. There were so many awesome points about how coaching isn't just teaching a game, it's about enriching lives. I don't agree with all of her coaching tactics (I for one will not be as intense of a coach. Sure, things will be expected to be done with full effort and without quitting, but not yelling
...and some of the things Pat did!), but she is an incredible person and I fully enjoyed her book. I would definitely recommend it to any sports fan or anyone that wants to coach.MoreLess
