On the succeeding Sabbath, Henry James read, by his father's request, the first five chapters of Paul's epistle to the Eomans, as preliminary to their next conversation, which, Mr. James told him, would be on the doctrine of Justification. When the evening arrived, the time appointed for this conversation, Henry said: In reading those chapters, father, one thing which has struck me forcibly, concerning the doctrine of justification is, that it is closely connected with the death and resurrection of Christ. It seems like a continuation of our conversation on the atonement. Mr. James replied: Your impression ia correct.
