Edgar Evertson Saltus, an American writer of the 19th-20th centuries touches upon the question of the Christian doctrine, coming to a conclusion that the original Christian conceptions were somehow borrowed from other religions. In “The Lords of the Ghostland”, tracing the genealogy of the divine, he examines such “lords of the ghostland” as Brahma, Ormuzd, Amon-Ra and others.
