A novel by a French writer Jules Lermina. Let alone his being a popularizer of occultism, he was the disciple and follower the tradition of Alexander Dumas, and considered to be one of the founders of modern thriller with elements of horror. Today Lermina, who was also known under the pen-name William Cobb, is best remembered for his adventure epopee. “The Son of Monte-Cristo”, published in 1881, is a sequel to the popular classic The Count of Monte-Cristo, which was followed by The Treasure of Monte-Cristo in 1885.
