What can be assigned to the Classic genre? There are books which became ideal for the epoch when they were written. Some of them are very old books. Classic literature is devoted to the three main groups (It depends on the time when the book was written). The first group is antic literature. They are the texts of wise people who lived in ancient Greek and ancient Rome. Homer, who wrote “The Iliad” and “Odyssey”, can be considered the first classic. The second group of the classic literature is the period of medieval Romans. There are unsurpassed romans about the lush ladies and their exquisite cavaliers. There are stories about feats, adventures and love. Legendary stories are about the kings and their kingdoms. Many elements of history are there. In such books we can find a lot of mystery. Not rare they are full of canonicity. The bright examples of such a literature are “The Song of Roland”, “Divine Comedy” and “Decameron”. The last group of classic literature are the books which were written in the 19th and 20th centuries. There are good known “Jane Eire”, “Gone with the Wind”, “Pride and Prejudice”, “War and Peace”, “The Master and Margarita”. The list of such books can be very long. They got a huge popularity. Many authors were honored only after death but their names are still alive in people memory. A lot of classic literature is included to the school program. It is considered that knowing classic authors and their books is very prestigious.
